While being a government agency, Safety Investigation Authority´s budget is decided in the state budget. The budget appropriation for the Safety Investigation Authority has remained largely the same during the last few years. The finances consist of the operational appropriation and the variable annual appropriation. In 2024, the operational appropriation is €1,930,000. The variable annual appropriation is €590,000 during the same year. Most of the budget is spent on wages, training, fixed costs and investigations.

Fees for providing copies and printouts

According to section 34, subsection 4 of the Act on the Openness of Government Activities (621/1999), ordinary requests for access to a document are deemed to be requests for access to a document that is fully public or from which the secret parts can be deleted without difficulty. Only the costs of copying are charged for providing such a document. The fee for copies and printouts is EUR 0.50 per page. No value-added tax is charged for copies or printouts. The minimum charge for copying is EUR 10.
