Y2024-02 Decision to investigate apartment block facade collapse in Kontula on 30 July 2024

Under section 2, subsection 2 of the Safety Investigation Act (525/2011), the Safety Investigation Authority, Finland, initiates an investigation into an accident in which the thickrendered façade insulation slabs of an apartment block collapsed in Kontula on 30 July 2024.

Senior safety investigator Hannu Hänninen has been appointed as the Head of the Investigation Team, with experts Toni Kekki, Kim Louhula and Tarja Wiikinkoski as its members. Chief Safety Investigator Timo Naskali serves as the Investigator-in-Charge.
