M2018-03 MV Priamos’s stranding in Kotka 12 September 2018

Based on section 2 of the Safety Investigation Act (525/2011), the Accident Investigation Authority decided to initiate an investigation into MV Priamos’s stranding off Mussalo harbour in Kotka 12 September 2018.

MV Priamos collided with buoy and stranded nearby shallow. The vessel was damaged and had to be towed back to quay.

Licentiate of Science (Technology) Olavi Huuska has been appointed as the Head of the Investigation Team, the other members being Safety investigator Hannu Hänninen, Captain Tero Haapalinna, Captain Sakari Häyrinen and Captain Sami Raappana. Chief Marine Safety Investigator Risto Haimila acts as the investigator-in-charge of the investigation.
